About the Shop

Automotive Body Specialists is a full-service repair facility. In the 1970s the owner had a fascination with muscle cars, with the first acquisition of a 1967 Rally Sport Camaro. What started as a hobby for personal projects began expanding as friends started asking for help with their vehicles. The more varied the cars the more knowledge that was required. Eventually the owner became a Master ASE Technician.

While contemplating starting a formal business, many years were spent employed by car dealerships, which allowed the added benefit of becoming GM GoodWrench Certified. ABS has gone through many exciting changes over the years to find the perfect balance of service required to meet the diverse needs of its customers along with the required knowledge to work on the global variety of vehicles that these customers own. Now 40 years later, after owning a car dealership for 5 years, ABS offers a full restoration shop as well as a full technical repair facility.

As vehicles change every year one requirement is regular annual education and certification to stay ahead of the changes that continue to expand the knowledge base for trucks and automobiles. The head mechanic continues to be a Master ASE Technican, and also a GM GoodWrench Mechanic.

Community Care

This shop serves as the most trusted repair facility of the Chippewa Valley in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin. ABS has a longer history in the community than almost any other repair facility. Giving back to the community in these tough times is the only way to truly show appreciation for those we serve. The owner donates a minimum of 5-10 hours a week working in the community. In addition, 10% of all profits are donated to local community and church leaders to help benefit those in need. Find out why we give back.
